INTRODUCTION
This organization was formed in October 1985 as a not-for-profit Ohio organization. The Association joined the Ohio Real Estate Investors Association (OREIA) State Association in 1987. The organization has grown to over 200 members.

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of A/CREIA is to educate members, to exchange information in the area of real estate investment with respect to financial techniques, services, home improvements and repairs, contractors, material supplies, tenant management and other areas which are of interest to the members.

DISCLAIMER
The A/CREIA is a non-profit educational association organized to provide a forum for exchange of information in areas of real estate investment. These areas might include but are not limited to financing, accounting, renovating, servicing, and landlording. Any information provided represents the opinions of the information provider only and does not necessarily represent the position or opinion of the association or any of its members. None of the officers, board members or newsletter editors is engaged in rendering legal, accounting or other professional advice. There has been some discussion within this organization about our endorsement policy as in regards to either our members, advertisers, or speakers.

In order to be sure that everyone understands our policy please understand that this organization is a not-for-profit educational association. We do not take official positions on any issues, and we do not underwrite, endorse or recommend any individual, business, political organization, or point of view.

We specifically disclaim any official responsibility for any of the points of view or advice circulated within the Association, and emphasize that professional advice should be sought before taking any action advocated or discussed at any of our functions.

Any of our members are certainly free to espouse any theory, service, supplier, cause or viewpoint that he or she may wish, but it must be understood that any such member speaks only for him or herself, he or she does not speak for the Association. And, no such service, supplier, cause or viewpoint may claim to be endorsed by, or associated with, in any manner by this Association.

How We Protect Your Information-
Akron Canton Real Estate Investor Association (A/CREIA) has always considered the protection of sensitive information to be a sound business practice and a foundation of member trust. We will always employ information protection controls in keeping with industry standards and practices, and we will regularly adapt these physical, electronic, and procedural controls to respond to changing requirements and advances in technology.

Within A/CREIA and among our service providers, we restrict access to your information to those who require that access in order to provide products (ie- newsletters) and membership services to you.

A/CREIA is obligated to share, upon occasion, the personal information that we collect about our members, prospective members, or former members in order to meet our broader membership obligations within state level (OREIA) and/or national industry organizations for the purpose of maintaining or expanding the benefits offered to our membership.

Other instances when information may be shared are currently limited to:
· Affiliates, including affiliated service providers (for example, our credit card processing
company) to complete authorized financial transactions (for example, payment of dues or purchase of course materials) · Unaffiliated service providers (for example, fulfillment companies, and direct mailing contractors) · Government agencies, other regulatory bodies, and law enforcement officials (for example, for audit purposes pertinent to maintenance of not-for-profit status) · Other organizations, as permitted by the laws that protect your privacy (for example, for fraud prevention) · Other organizations, with your consent or as directed by you.
